Light sleeper..

I am a light sleeper... And will always be..

The slight rustle of leaves wakes me..

The click of switches wakes me..

I am up when someone drags a chair..

I am up even with a cough and sneeze..

I wake up hearing raised voices of my father..

I wake up hearing screams and sobs of my mother..

But now I know you are there..

You won't let any noise come near me..

Nor the abusive words, nor the shouts and screams..

Nor the banging of doors, nor the thud of slaps, nor my own sobs..

The chairs won't screech..

The switches won't click..

 Because you know I am a light sleeper.. And will always be..
